Alexander Funk studied electrical engineering at German, U.S.-American and Canadian universities. He received his MSc. from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1995 and his Ph.D. from the University of Calgary in 1998. He worked from 1998 to 2000 in the dispatch center of a German power utility before joining the patent departments of Siemens AG and BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgerä´¥ GmbH. Alexander Funk has been a European patent attorney since 2003. Since 2005 he has been with Reinhard Skuhra Weise & Partner.
While at Siemens AG, he worked in the fields of medical engineering, computer-related inventions and business methods. While at BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgerä´¥ GmbH, his patent work was related to small thermal appliances and refrigerators.
Alexander Funk is experienced in the fields of power engineering, power electronics, electric drives and control theory due to his graduate studies.
In addition to German he speaks English fluently.
