- Semester abroad at the Sprachen- und Dolmetscherinstitut Munich (made possible by a scholarship from the Bavarian State Chancellery)
- Sworn and certified translator and interpreter in Germany. Many years of professional experience as a translator and interpreter in the technical and legal fields
- Many years of professional experience in patent prosecution

Ms. Funk-Gao joined isarpatent® in early 2022 and is now in charge of clients and trainees from China as China Business Manager.
She is responsible for client management, marketing in China as well as translations from and into the Chinese language. Furthermore, she supports isarpatent® in the coordination of business trips in the Asian region. She is also handling European patent application.
